GRADUATE RESEARCH

A thesis has a lifecycle. Rize holds all of it.

From the first form to the final defence: the committee, the appointments, the evaluations and the documents. A supervisor knows where every candidate stands, and so does the office that will be asked.

WHY THIS EXISTS

Supervision runs on memory.

The forms live in a drawer, the committee was agreed in a meeting, and the candidate who has not been seen for a term is discovered when somebody asks a question that nobody can answer from a file.

WHAT IS IN IT

Everything this office has to stand behind.

The thesis forms

The sequence a candidate moves through, from the first annexure to the last, as a state rather than as paperwork.

The graduate examination committee

Assignment, members, and the change requests that follow when a member has to be replaced.

Appointments

Pre-examination and oral examination, scheduled and recorded.

Final defence

Evaluation against a template, with the lines each examiner completed.

Timeline activities

What is due, what is late, and what has been done, per candidate.

Documents and certificates

The thesis documents held with the record, and the certificate produced at the end of it.

Student projects

Undergraduate and taught-programme projects, tracked alongside.

THE BOUNDARY

It tracks the process. Your committee examines the work.

No evaluation is made by the system. The committee judges the thesis, the defence is conducted by people, and Rize holds who decided what, on which date, against which candidate.

THE LIVE DEMONSTRATION

Open a real registrar’s office.

Four departments run live at edu.tifaqm.com: admissions, finance, HR and academics. Sign in as a guest and open them as a registrar would. No form stands in front of it, and no one calls you afterwards.
